Andrew Sorrell is a 39-year-old entrepreneur, private pilot, advanced SCUBA diver, Eagle Scout, and former State Representative from House District 3 in Colbert County. After serving a term in the legislature, Andrew decided to run for State Auditor and was elected November 8th, 2022, becoming Alabama’s youngest statewide elected official. He was consistently ranked as one of the most conservative legislators in Alabama, earning him the Conservative Policy Warrior award from the Alabama Policy Institute in 2020 as well as a perfect 100 rating on the American Conservative Union’s 2021 scorecard.
As Auditor, Andrew declined to use a state vehicle, relocated the staff, and left an administrative assistant position unfilled, saving taxpayers tens of thousands of dollars. Andrew attended Muscle Shoals High School and graduated in 2004. By testing out of many credit hours, taking overloads, and enrolling in summer semesters, Andrew completed his 4-year Business Management degree at the University of North Alabama (UNA) in less than 2 years, finishing in July 2006.
Andrew is a successful entrepreneur. He started his first company at age 16, and currently owns part or all of 4 different Alabama-based businesses, which employ about 20 people. He also owns multiple rental properties, both commercial and residential.
As he is the son, grandson, and great-grandson of preachers, Andrew’s conservative upbringing helped shape his political philosophy. Andrew currently serves as Bylaws Chairman for the Alabama Republican Party and is a member of the State Financial Officers Foundation where he serves in leadership as the Auditor-At-Large.
Andrew is married to Hannah, who he met on a bus in Rome, Italy in May 2016 while on a church history tour. Their first child was born on October 18th, 2021, a daughter they named Liberty. Their second daughter, also a girl, was born June 1st, 2023, and named Glory. They are expecting their third child in September of 2025.
Andrew considers himself a Christian first, a Conservative second, and a Republican third.
Meet Andrew
Hannah Sorrell is a 33-year-old real estate agent, a former teacher, avid reader, classically trained singer, and Andrew Sorrell’s biggest fan. The title she is most proud to have achieved is “Mommy” to Liberty and Glory.
Hannah is the youngest child of a pharmacist and a teacher and was raised in a Christian home.
After earning her teaching degree in 2014 from Bob Jones University, Hannah was hired as a graduate assistant to teach Public Speaking to freshmen in college, while also earning a Master of Arts in Communication Studies in 2016.
In May of 2016 Hannah went on a church history tour in Europe. On the tour she got talking to a guy she overheard discussing elections and campaigning. In between gelato, croissants, and Yorkshire pudding, Hannah fell in love with her husband, Andrew. On June 30, 2017, the couple married in Greenville, SC at Hannah’s home church. Hannah fell in love with Alabama almost as quickly as she fell for Andrew and is proud to call Alabama her new home state.
After working for Andrew’s business for 4 years, Hannah earned her real estate license in 2021. She continues to work part-time in real estate, while being a full-time mom. Liberty was born in 2021, and Glory followed in 2023. Hannah is expecting a third child, due in September of 2025.
